Birthplace: Las Condes, Santiago
Place of residence: Providencia, Stgo
Any particular reason you live there now?: its always struck me as weird that people have *reasons* to live where they live: Americans and other first world peoples seem to move with the lightness one might change personal trainers, or get a new car: for me, the idea of moving away from Santiago, the city where almost everyone i care about lives, sounds like this HUGE, life-changing decision. Then again, we latin americans are known to be a lot less mobile in general.

I'm basically an inactive conlanger and even more inactive member of this list, but maybe if I put my hat down at the (re)start here I'll somehow get all fired up and re-activated.

Basics
Username: Kuroda
Birthplace: Uncertain. (No, really.)
Place of residence: Cthulhu's Nursery, the Pacific Northwest (of N. America)
Any particular reason you live there now? Keep wandering back here; the climate is the least unpleasant I've found in the US.
Occupation: Crazy homeless person.
Pets: None... that I know of.

Identity
Gender Sex: Female. Gender is patriarchy.
Sexuality: Homosexual; lesbian. Not queer.
Relationship: None.
Nationality: Technically stateless. Been in the US since I came here for university; I consider it 'home' now, and maintain I'm legally a citizen.
Ethnicity: White enough to pass, mongrel enough to know it.
Religion: No.

Measurements
Age and date of birth: Pushing fifty. (And putting your d.o.b. out there on the internet is a terrible idea; I've been doxxed and real-lifed stalked a couple times -- save yourself the un-fun!)
Height: Tall? When I was younger and less-busted up, I was "freaky tall".
Weight: Chunky. Flabby and sagging. Bony here and there? No idea, quantitatively.
Shoe size: No idea.
Blood type: Don't remember.
Handedness: Left.

Languages (including level of fluency!)
Native language(s): Chinese as a little kid, Russian and English as a bigger kid; had to go study Chinese and Russian as an adult because I'd forgotten them so thoroughly. Only fluent in English now, though (generously speaking).
Other languages: Classical/literary Chinese, Mongol, Manchu, Nanai; mostly forgotten Sanskrit, Tibetan, Lushootseed; some Nahuatl, Japanese, and the other Tungusic languages; and 'grad student bibliography' knowledge of French, German, Spanish, Russian, etc.
Your conlangs: For the last decade or two of the conlang racket I just did a-posteriori/bogolangs, namely various alt-history developments of Tungusic and Mongolic languages, a misplaced 17th century Min dialect, etc. Before that I did less 'grounded' projects, but always pretty naturalistic.
Natlangs or conlangs you have interest in but have never actually learned any of aside from maybe reading a paper on it once: Yoruba, Portuguese, Tocharian, Burmese, and the strangely exotic Swedish.

Favourites
Favourite language: I don't think I have a favorite. There are ones I especially enjoy or appreciate, but it's for all different kinds of reasons in each case (not just linguistic, but biographical, etc.) and not due to any systematic aesthetic.
Favourite colour: Soft, cool, dim, damp gray.
Favourite food: Toss-up between curry rice and khoresh-e fesenjaan?
Favourite drink: Black tea with star anise, or black coffee; unsweetened in either case.
Favourite animal: Raccoons. I'm living with them!
Favourite sport: Outliving my detractors' (and my own) expectations.
Favourite book: I don't believe in flattering books, or writers. They don't deserve my affection.
Favourite movie: Oh, same thing with them.
Favourite video game: I haven't played a video game in over a decade. So, Morrowind?
Favourite non-video game: I used to RPG some in Glorantha & Tekumel; that was good fun. But in terms of games in the traditional sense, I really don't care for them at all.

Extra Credit
1) Link to the funniest picture you know of on the internet that isn't goatse or in the same spirit. There is nothing funny on the internet.
2) What's the most interesting place you've ever been to? Homeland Security's off-the-books detention centers. Vividness may be contaminating their interest, I admit.

Basics
Username: Raphael
Name: you can probably discover it with a bit of detective work
Other nicknames (including good stories, if you have any): back when spinnwebe.com ran the AAA-1 Americaptions, I got three captions accepted as "street and rail", which I used because I was living in a house between a busy street and a rail line at the time
Birthplace: Hamburg, Germany
Place of residence: a bit outside of Hamburg, Germany
Any particular reason you live there now? never had a good enough reason to move away
Pets (+5 extra credit if you provide photographic evidence): None currently. As a kid, I had a dog for a while, and some gerbils (I think) for a shorter time. In my twenties, I often helped take care of the cat my mother had at the time.

Identity
(pedantic note: I think "identity", if you really think about it, covers pretty much everything in this census, and much more on top of that. I don't like the way "identity", these days, is used to refer to only the groups that a person belongs to. I think reducing a person's identity to what groups that person belongs to is a horribly reductionist view of a person's identity.)
Gender: male
Sexuality: straight
Relationship: single
Nationality: German
Ethnicity: German. Some Jewish ancestry
Religion: not very observant mainline protestant
Politics: I've had at least some problems with every political movement I've ever seen, and I don't like to call myself anything politically because I don't want to invite people to purity test me. But if you do a kind of vector addition of my different political views, you get something a bit left of center, and I usually vote for center-left parties and candidates. (On the Internet, I might sometimes come across as more right-wing than I am because a) I usually hang out in more or less left-wing places and b) I'm more likely to say something when I disagree with people than when I agree with them. But the main reason why I usually hang out in more or less left-wing places in the first place is that in right-wing places, I can't take The Stupid for long.)

Measurements
Age and date of birth: early 1982
Height: been a while since I measured
Weight: been a while since I measured, and since I turned from a skinny teenager into a somewhat fat middle aged guy, this is a depressing topic for me
Shoe size: 43/44
Blood type: O negative, so I'm theoretically the perfect blood donor
Handedness: right handed

Languages (including level of fluency!)
Native language(s): German
Other languages: English (fluent); I can sometimes sort of decipher some written Dutch, Afrikaans, and to a lesser extent, Spanish
Your conlangs: none
Natlangs or conlangs you have interest in but have never actually learned any of aside from maybe reading a paper on it once:
I'm kind of fascinated with Korean, which I see as the language of the two most interesting places in the world - the most interesting-in-a-good-way place and the most interesting-in-a-bad-way place

Favourites
Favourite language: I think spoken Italian just sounds very cool
Favourite colour: not really any single one, but I kind of like the main primary colors more than the other colors
Favourite food: spaghetti bolognese (yes, I know that all actual Italians see that as a horrible foreign abomination)
Favourite drink: alcoholic: what the Brits call cider and the Americans call hard cider; non-alcoholic: really good apple juice (that is perhaps the only thing I'm snobbish about; I think the cheap stuff just doesn't taste nearly as good)
Favourite animal: probably cats - I know all the arguments against them, but they're just too cute
Favourite sport: as a spectator: it's fairly weird for me to say this, since I'm neither Irish nor from a small town, but I think Gaelic Football is a lot of fun to watch. As something I do myself, I have a soft spot for badminton, though it's been ages since I last played it. But the only sport I follow semi-regularly is soccer - I grew up in a family that only paid attention to sports when there was a World Cup or European Championship on, and it stuck.
Favourite book: too many to choose from
Favourite movie: too many to choose from
Favourite video game: right now it's a tie between Sim City 3000 and Alpha Centauri. Yes, I'm into older stuff
Favourite non-video game: I quite like air hockey, although I've only played it a few times. And the board game Labyrinth (Das Verrückte Labyrinth)

Extra Credit
2) What's the most interesting place you've ever been to? a wind tunnel, probably

Languages (including kevel of fluency!)

Other languages: English (fluent), Latin (rusty), can make sense of most Germanic and Romance languages in written form at least
Your conlangs: Old Albic (most developed), Roman Germanech (well-developed but obsolete), various others (in various stages from a few ideas to unfinished grammar sketches)

2) What's the most interesting place you've ever been to? I went to the set of the Crystal Maze when I was about 9. That was pretty cool.
