I believe he can run again. It's just that, constitutionally, he can't be re-elected. If the electoral college can't elect a president, then Congress elects the president. I think it's the outgoing congress that does the election, not the incoming one.
Under the current law, if the Electoral College fails to elect a president, it would be the incoming House of Representatives which would elect the president (the formal count of the electoral votes is on 6 January, after the new session of Congress commences on 3 January), but only out of the (maximum of) three candidates who secured the greatest number of electoral votes and in a bloc system where each state counts for one vote. By contrast, the Senate elects the vice president amongst the two candidates with the greatest number of electoral votes.

The TL;DR of the procedure for the marginally interested:
(1) On the first Tuesday after the first Monday of November, the general election is held. However, what is being elected is not the president, but instead a slate of electors who have pledged their souls or lack thereof to vote for a specific candidate for president and vice president.
(2) In 49/51 jurisdictions, the slate of electors which has the greatest number of votes is, for that state, elected in a plurality-bloc system. These electors are then... well, elected to perform their only task: to vote for president and vice president.
(3) Normally on 14 December, these electors will then gather in one location and formally cast their votes for president or vice president. It's only at this point that the election is "properly" held, and this is very likely the point when people would realize that a person cannot be elected more than twice as president, so they would need to figure out what to do. This is also the point where faithless electors can and sometimes do vote for other people.
(4) In any event, after the votes have been cast for president and vice president (officially separately, and a notable thing is that they cannot vote for two people who are domiciled in the same state), these certificates are signed in multiplicate and sent to the Archivist of the United States who will then prepare them for the counting session on 6 January. Again, it's 51 separate elections at this point.
(5) On 6 January, the counting takes place. Notably, an absolute majority of 270 electoral votes is required to be elected. If, after the count is completed, this majority is not achieved, the contingent election procedure is triggered in which the House of Representatives will go into session to vote for president and the Senate for vice president; in both cases, an absolute majority is required.

Random: I'm having to teach myself embroidery as part of this scientific project I'm working on; things I thought I might have to do, but which didn't become realistic until I got to the point I'm at where I'm needing the skill. At least we have collaborators who are fashion/apparel designers, but they won't be available until later and we want to submit the IP disclosure ASAP...

What Raphael said, but also, how does the project require embroidery?

Really hurt my toe yesterday, cracking and partially tearing the toe nail. I really hope it doesn't get infected since I could lose the toe or even my whole foot.

Explanation time! (Hidden from the uninterested.)

My project is a fiber spinning project, where we make fibers that should be responsive to stresses of various kinds. The idea is, in part, that these fibers can be incorporated into garments and other apparel or be made themselves into apparel. What we do need to show, though, is that these fibers can respond to stresses and be incorporated into things, and that's where the embroidery comes in: more from the application side, but still a part of the project. And the fun thing is that now we may have an apparel designer (my coworker's brother) with whom we can collaborate, so I'm not having to do this entirely solo. :P

Hm, this sounds like something zompist might be somewhat interested in. The fiber and fabric aspect might tie into some stuff he's been writing on his Patreon, with its a-conworld-that-is-currently-at-a-mid-to-late-21st-century-Earth-level theme.

Were they important? I'm worried you're wasting your time going through ads and assorted junk. Concentrate your effort where you want to make the most difference.

I do a very short glance at every ad and assorted junk mail, while spending a bit more time on each of the more substantial ones. Note that I sometimes had to interrupt to do other stuff, too.
