Re: British Politics Guide
Ann Widdecombe, a Reform UK spokeswoman, former Tory minister and former UKIP MEP, has just been murdered! A white Briton has been arrested for the murder.
Re: British Politics Guide
Moron. He just gave them the keys to Parliament. Assassination is not the way.

BBC reports ‘The incident is not being treated as terrorism’. More generally, every other time you’ve said this (has anyone been counting?) you’ve been wrong.

Re: British Politics Guide
Does anyone other than you actually think this? You were acting like Trump would suddenly become overwhelmingly popular when Charlie Kirk was assassinated, yet that did not actually happen.

Re: British Politics Guide
That would be a somewhat strange coincidence.
Re: British Politics Guide
I agree with your third sentence, but I suggest you learn a bit more about contemporary British politics before saying things like the first two.

Re: British Politics Guide
Oddly, the white male (the second such) currently charged with her murder was arrested in South Yorkshire (misleadingly identifiable as the Socialist Republic of Sheffield). He is stated by the police to have been "arrested in South Yorkshire by officers from Counter Terrorism Police North East and South Yorkshire Police". Methinks someone had an open mind as to a political motive. As there was a 'manhunt', this does look less and less like a random murder, but still not premeditated.
I presume race keeps being mention to prevent agitators attempting to instigate a race riot.
Re: British Politics Guide
Exactly, although it doesn't stop certain persons saying it's a cover-up or something and you can't trust anything anybody says any more.

Re: British Politics Guide
If you can't trust anything anybody says any more, how can you be sure that Ann Widdecombe was actually assaulted and is actually dead?
Or that there ever was a person called "Ann Widdecombe"?
Re: British Politics Guide
I learnt about the Nazi Trump supporters from Wikipedia and this forum among others so even for that social media is superfluous.
Or that "Ann" is even a forename? Or that names aren't just a conspiracy by the Freemason lizards to prevent us from joining the singularity? :p
Re: British Politics Guide
Au contraire; so-called ‘names’ are actually a conspiracy by the global elite to bring us under the thumb of their so-called ’laws’.
(Lest you think I’m making this up…)

I met someone who believed a French variant thereof. We have not spoken since I challenged his ideas. I had underlined that the capital letters are a typological convention and that the Académie française decides on a standardised version of French, not the be-all and end-all thereof.bradrn wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2026 4:59 amAu contraire; so-called ‘names’ are actually a conspiracy by the global elite to bring us under the thumb of their so-called ’laws’.

Re: British Politics Guide
Do you perhaps mean a typographic convention?

I just discovered that there's apparently a bit of a cult of Starmer dead-enders on social media. And here I thought nothing in the world could surprise me any more.
Re: British Politics Guide
Why are no serious parties running a candidate against Farage in this by-election? Does he have such an overwhelming advantage that nobody else could plausibly win? Failing that, it seems daft not to mount some resistance. Defeating him in the election would deal quite a blow to his plans, if only until he finds another opportunity to enter parliament.
