Of course, humans aren't naturally inclined to do things that make sense. As far as I can see, there is only one way to solve this problem:
1. Antihumanism. Do things that make the people rue the day they were born human:

2. Despair. Write catchy songs that suck all joy out of the world and/or make humans lose the will to live:

3. Bullying. Slap the people until they are sadder:

I call this praxis Joy Accelerationism. The sadder we make humans, the happier we will be when the joy naturally bounces back. Or maybe the fascists will get tired of our unending stream of sadness and give in.
We can always hope.

Just checking, but this isn't meant seriously, right?

Yes, I have been told before that the things I say make it difficult to trust my politics. I think there's a fundamental misunderstanding here: I don't want to behave like a ruler. Nowhere in my proposal is there a place for a ruler with a stick up his ass making hard choices with deadly seriousness of purpose. I don't think that approach is either good or effective. I want to fuck around irresponsibly as one of the people. If some good ideas emerge occasionally, so much the better. This is not just because I don't want to behave like the joyless psychopaths who rule us. I think the best ideas don't arrive unless you fuck around at least half the time. What appears as intelligence in hindsight necessarily emerges from a matrix of stupidity. When you are looking for novel ideas unlike what came before, trying combinations opens new doors of associations. As for whether this is serious, you can go through my proposal and see whether and how much this thread is compatible with it:

If you want something serious to talk about, I recently translated a whole 20 minute long fairytale. Today, I transliterated it. It took hours of hard work. You could comment on that.

I am neither Gargamel nor Sauron so I have no insight into how best to wrap
mankind in a blanket of unrelenting sorrow, but I can offer you
a video on how to wrap
yourself in a blanket of unrelenting sorrow.

If the problem of depressing humanity solves itself once everyone is addicted to screens, do I have to spread joy in order to keep the job of promoting mass depression alive?

This question sounds incredibly bizarre and counterintuitive simply on its face. Pretty much everyone I know online is already unhappy simply by default. I myself contemplate suicide at least once a week. Nearly a million people rioted in France last week over everything from crumbling schools to soaring prices and plenty of other countries have seen major protests as well. Where are you getting the notion that people are not already wrapped in a blanket of unrelenting sorrow?
If you are really serious about advancing the cause of socialism, you ought to promise something better than the unremitting horrors currently plaguing the world, not asking how to make things even worse. Quite honestly, your whole plan to make everyone more miserable is monstrous and you really should apologize.

An appropriate musical selection can work wonders.
