Help with Algonkian research for my paper.

For my archaeological field school, with talks with my professor, I decided want to do a report making a comparative analysis of the Algonquian/Algonkian languages, such as the Ojibwe and Cree. The area where we are digging for artifacts is near Lake Superior, and where a lot of Ojibwe people live, so it is relevant.
Anyways, I am kind of lost on where to start on researching, so I am wondering if anyone got papers/grammars to help me out?
I have been recommended in discord to look at Ives Goddard's work.

Comparative analysis in what sense? Does it need to connect to archaeology?

Comparative analysis in what sense?
I'm thinking like describing some of the major subfamilies, a summary of shared features, describing how they are similar, how they differ, and timeframes of divergence.
Does it need to connect to archaeology?
Does not have to be directly relevant to material culture or anything like that.
