Je me demande, combien d’erreurs peut-il se trouver dans un seul post…?
/jəm.də.mɑ̃d | kõ.bjɛ̃.de.ʁœʁ.pø.til.sə.tʁu.ve.dɑ.zɛ̃.sœl.pɔst/

I wonder, how many errors can be found in one single post…?

Long time since anyone posted something here...

This is a sentence from my Arabic course that I felt inspired to translate into other languages:

لا أحب ان يلعب الأولاد في الشارع

I don’t like it that the children are playing in the street.

My sister bought the house next to hers. I recently got a Latin dictionary and text books from that house.

Hmmm... let's wait what a native French speaker says on the approriateness of il ne me plaît pas (where I also just noticed a second typo in my post.)

Je n'aime pas que les enfants jouent dans la rue.

It's weird and a little annoying that it's so hard to explain why some grammatically correct constructions feel idiomatic and other don't!
I'll try anyway. I think Je n'apprécie pas sounds too formal.
Il ne me plaît pas... feels even more formal. I think maybe Ça ne me plaît pas would be better, but anyway Je n'aime pas is what I'd say here. I think ...ne me plaît pas... applies to more specific, definite objects/situations.

Diesen Sommer habe ich mit meiner Familie Urlaub gemacht in Deutschland (in dem Harz). Wir haben viel Spaß gemacht (insb. die Kinder, die von dem Megazipline, eine 1 km lange Seilrutsche, nach unten gerutscht sind). Ich habe viel Deutsch gesprochen und einige neue Wörter gelernt.

Ich konnte das auf Deutsch lesen, ohne das Englisch erst zu lesen.
I could read that in German without reading the English first.

I hope you enjoyed that.

¹ Ich meine, dass das Konjunktive I nicht so oft benuzt ist, aber „dass das dich“ kommt mir falsch vor. Passt das?
¹ I think the subjunctive² isn't used that much, but “dass das dich” doesn't sound right to me. Does that work?
² Really unhelpfully, I was taught the Konjunktiv I & II as the subjunctive and conditional respectively

Edit: Schlimme Zitaten und keine Englische Übersetzungen
Edit: bad quotes and no English translation

Ich muss sagen, dass mein Deutsch ist nicht so gut, deshalb es mich immer freut, wenn ich Deutsch verstehen kann, ohne die Hilfe eines Wörterbuchs oder einer Übersetzung zu benutzen.
I must say that my German is not so good, so it always makes me happy if I can understand German without the help of a dictionary or translation.

Es freut mich, dass eure Ferien bzw. euer schnelles Verständnis euch so gefreut haben.

I'm glad that your vacation or your quick understanding made you so happy.

Lērisama: "dass das dich freut" would actually work, or at least I think so, but I admit that it looks a bit weird. I guess a teacher might judge it as "correct grammar but bad style", or something like that. More natural would be "dass dich das freut".

Es scheint wie der Konjunktiv I ja so selten benutzt wird.
It seems like the subjunctive really is used that rarely.

Danke. Ich habe nicht gedacht daran, die Wortstellung zu ändern, um den schlechten Stil zu vermeiden.
Thank you. I didn't even think about changing the word order to avoid the bad style.

Ich hatte nicht von "weshalb" gewusst, aber ich fühle dumm dafür, "ist" zu legen, wo ich es gelegt hatte, weil ich so viel von deutscher Wortstellung weiß.
I had not known about "weshalb", but I feel dumb for putting "ist" where I had put it because I know that much about German word order.
