Re: Random Thread

Did anyone actually specify how tall Mr. Clean is? The text that came with those figures, perhaps? By that you could determine the height of Mr. Clean by measuring the height of the Mr. Clean action figure and multiplying by six... I'm thinking then it's a rather tall action figure or Mr. Clean is ...

Re: Happy things thread!

Band practice today went fantastic . My collaborator paid me a huge compliment: One of our WIPs ends with a vamped passage for the outro (for the recording it’s supposed to fade out) and I decided to go a little nuts with the ride cymbal, snare, and toms. When we ended it, he had a grin and told me ...

I like to collect the unusual. Items I have include: - A Zoloft promotional clock - A fragment of lunar meteoritic material - A 2009 Physician’s Desk Reference - An IBM PCJr. wall ad - Not just one, but two 1:6-scale Mr. Clean action figures (still in their boxes) - A copy of Globus Cassus I also co...

From a local X feed (19 Action News): They're keeping smaller birds from pooping all over and making a mess of the city. Initially I read this as They're [keeping smaller birds from pooping all over] and [making a mess of the city]. and not They're keeping smaller birds from [pooping all over and ma...

Seriously, what part of [ˌɑ̃ːʁ̃ˤɯːp̚ˈpʰɑːmʁ̩ˤ(ː)] is hard to understand? Aarghoop Paamrrgh? The way you spelled that makes me think [ˌɑːʁˤɡuʔpˈpʰãːmʁ̩ˤːk]. This is peak ZBB. Yes. It was against my autism (don’t know if the guy knew I had it or not though).

Got hit with a slur today by some guy who claimed that English has stopped evolving and is now frozen. This is the first time I can recall having been hit with a slur that refers to a group I belong to.
