In order to do that succesfully, he'd need the corridor Torco mentions. Of course, he can stir trouble or lob missiles at Moldova, but strategically it doesn't make sense - it would only be a diversion.

Re: Linguistic Miscellany Thread

How it's known that Proto Germanic infinitive had a vowel at the end since none of attested Germanic languages has it? We can at least say that the final -n of the oldest attested forms must at some point have been followed either by a short vowel of by *t, otherwise the n would have been lost. And...

Having read the article, I now understand the headline, but it stills sounds weird to me that, when someone first killed a cat and then later a human being, the headline about them starts out by calling them a "cat killer". I have brought your wrong priorities to the attention of our feli...

My position on this is similar to that of some others here - 1) I don't belive in god(s) because I haven't seen any evidence or argument that has convinced me they are a necessary part of explaining the world, and 2) I have specific issues with believing in the Christian god because assuming his exi...

Not really arguing for or against anything said here, but also keep in mind that hunter-gatherer language families can spread over vast territories as well; see Australia, which was mostly Pama-Nyungan before the European colonists arrived.
