Re: British Politics Guide
Part of it is the gradual intellectual and moral decline of the Tory party. Just look at, say, Tory Foreign Secretaries. Johnson and Hunt are no Hammond and Hague; Hammond and Hague are no Rifkind and Hurd. Rifkind and Hurd were arguably no Major and Howe, and certainly Major and Howe were no Carri...

Re: British Politics Guide
Too many Tories, not enough sleep.
Javid dropped out because he couldn't make the 20 nominations threshold. He didn't endorse anyone, presumably because he wants to stay in Cabinet and pissing off the wrong person is a great way to do that when the wrong person becomes PM.

Re: United States Politics Thread 46
(Actually I care a lot more about French politics. But you don't want me to bring it up: it's horribly depressing!) It can’t possibly be worse than Australian politics. We have a PM who has done quite literally nothing for three years straight… except for a bit of blatant corruption and some vague ...

Re: Cadhinor (and Almean) poetry
You probably know about this page , but you may not have seen the following sentence, which appears to be the only known answer to your question. Caďinor poetry was not divided into sulirulî but into liret 'verses' or 'melodies', divided into a fixed number of beats. As poetry was commonly set to mu...

Random typo: in the introduction you've got vrazikaiz for ancestor, but everywhere else it's vraskaiz.

I learned that the Egyptian army kept precise records of how many Sea People penises they cut (two piles of respectively 12,868 and 12,535 after their first battle). Re: British Politics Guide
It's impossible, because Boris Is Indestructible. But if it did happen, the Conservative Party would indeed have to elect a new leader. There have been suggestions that, if that happens, the leader just gets someone loyal and stupid to stand aside and trigger a by-election they can win. As far as I...

Re: On Hanying and Creole Adjustment
Today in typos: the translations in the negative section of MH morphology are all positive. Also, there's a broken image at the top, which I'm guessing is meant to be Hanying written in its native alphabet.

Re: Some Verdurian typos
More emperors! And empresses! Have you had this material sitting around for a few years/decades, or did the muse strike you? Couple lingering issues: - the Verdurian reflex of Andeoraďa varies by page (Anďorada for the first, Andoraďa for the second - the list of rulers I've found and the Caďinor to...

Ah, truly there is no greater joy than inducing zomp to post content. Now I can brag to all my friends! A couple more weird issues: - Nusisponos is listed twice in the ruler box... but what's really interesting is how the article is duplicated within itself! - the earlier emperor articles have the p...

Re: Some Verdurian typos
These are more Sarnáe/Dhekhnam typos, but I figured this was the best thread to put them in. Perhaps they can start a cold war with the Verdurian typos? - The Atlas says (in 1750) that Ilďaneas died and was succeeded by his nephew; Almeopedia says that he was succeeded by Belgovileas, who is also sa...
